About Mrs. Katy Des Enfants
I grew up on a farm near Astoria, SD (about 45 minutes north of Brookings) and graduated from SDSU with a Bachelor's of Music Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance. After college, I moved to Cedar Rapids, IA with my then-new husband, Adam and started my Masters degree at the University of Iowa in Voice Performance. After a year of my studies, my husband and I decided to move home to South Dakota. I have taught at Viborg-Hurley since August 2018.
Now my husband and I live in Sioux Falls with our cat, Roxie. When I'm not busy teaching, I enjoy reading, singing with my church's choir, and finding new and creative ways to prevent waste in my home.
Adam and I are expecting our first child in September and I will be on maternity leave from Labor Day to Halloween.
